Manufacturing Execution System
A Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is an information management system used to track, monitor, and control manufacturing processes in real time. MES covers the entire production lifecycle, including production planning, shop-floor management, process parameter control, production logistics management, and other key manufacturing activities, supporting production execution, operations management, enterprise management, and decision-making. MES can also be integrated with systems such as ERP, PLM, and SCM to enable information sharing and data connectivity across different levels of the enterprise. In addition, MES is increasingly combined with emerging technologies such as robotics, big data, and cloud computing to provide manufacturers with more efficient production process management and more refined, intelligent manufacturing capabilities.
